Air To Air

Easily the most common types of heat pumps, the air-to-air models extract heat or cold from the outside and pass along those gains to your home. The heating and cooling is accomplished by changing the refrigerant inside the heat pump from a liquid to a gas and back to a liquid again. Each change generates either heat or cold which is captured and shared with your living space. Every home already has at least one, air-to-air to air heat pump - your refrigerator. Ever notice how the back of your fridge gives off heat? An air-to-air heat pump employs the same principles as your fridge, only on a larger scale.
